Starting in 1988 as a small, woman-owned business, First Preston HT understands the desire to be given an opportunity to compete for business and the challenges associated with promoting your experience and capabilities. We actively seek small and diverse-owned businesses as subcontractors to provide the appraisals, inspections, property management and listing services we need in managing the portfolios of properties for our clients across the country. We seek subcontractors with relevant experience, outstanding customer service, competitive fees and a commitment to meeting the changing needs of our portfolio of clients. With the assistance of over 7,500 subcontracting partners we manage and sell 35,000 properties annually for a growing number of clients. Since 1999, our spending with small and diverse-owned businesses exceeds $52 million.
We value exceptional performance foremost in the selection of subcontracting partners. First Preston HT has subcontracting goals in many of our client contracts that promote the use of small and diverse-owned businesses. It is important that we know if your company is a small business, and regardless of the size of your business, if the ownership falls within any of the diverse-owned categories such as veteran-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned, women-owned, disadvantaged-owned or HUB Zone.
We request this information from our subcontractors as our clients require that we report on our inclusion of small business subcontractors and diverse-owned contractors. We also include information on the diversity of our vendors in proposals for public and private sector contracts, as many potential new clients require confirmation of a diverse supplier base as part of their selection criteria. New business secured by First Preston HT results in additional growth not only for our company, but also for our national supplier network.
